Curly And Lil Kimbler performs "Columbus Stockade Yodel" on Hee Haw 1979.

The song is Columbus Stockade Blues, but in Yodel version.

These guys take away the blues, and turn it into a hillbilly yodel, good and curious version.

I could not find information about them, only that they lived in a caravan.

The traditional country song "Columbus Stockade Blues" was performed recorded in 1927 by an early country music duo Darby_and_Tarlton Tom Darby and Jimmie Tarlton and in 1930 by Cliff Carlisle in the album Cliff Carlisle - A Country Legacy 1930 - 1933

Columbus Stockade Blues lyrics

Way down in Columbus Georgia

Lord I wish I was back in Tennessee

Way down in that old Columbus Stockade

My friends all have turned their back on me.

Go and leave me if you wish to

Never let me cross your mind

In your heart you love another

Leave me, little darling, I don't mind

Many a night with you I've rambled

Honey, countless hours with you I've spent

Thought I had your sweet love and your little heart forever

But I find it was only lent.

Go and leave me if you wish to

Never let me cross your mind

If in your heart you love another

Leave me, little darling, I don't mind

Last night as I lay sleeping

Oh, I dreamd that I was you in my arms

When I woke I was mistaken

Lord, I was still behind these bars

Go and leave me if you wish to

Never let me cross your mind

If in your heart you love another

Leave me, little darling, I don't mind

Lord, I've got the walking blues

Curly & Lil lived in Key West Florida in the winter. Curly spent several years selling dobros on the road. So, one day he decided enough was enough and him & Lil bought a motor home and travelled around the country, settling in the Keys in the winter time. They were good friends with Jimmy Buffett and Jerry Jeff Walker back in the early 70's. They used to play the Big Pine Inn and Sloppy Joe's regularly to make money while in key West. They were fun and funny characters with a good sense of humor and enjoyed good beer and good food.
