Jack Phillips

This is a brand new CD by a fine young fiddle player from Texas, Jack Phillips. The album was produced by the great Bobby Flores, who also plays guitar and of course, fiddle. There are 12 classic tunes with Jack doing vocal, fiddle and mandolin on the album.

The musicians heard along with Jack and the great Bobby Flores are Jim Loessberg- drums, RJ Smith- fiddle, Kristyn Harris- rhythm guitar, Jake Hooker- bass and Randy Reinhard- piano and steel guitar except where Tommy Detamore plays steel on the Asleep at the Wheel standard Miles & Miles of Texas. Also on that tune there is a brand new fourth verse, Kristyn Harris helps out on vocal, Jack plays guitar, Duane Wavra does bass and John Owens plays drums.

The album opens as many of Bob Wills' dances did with South, this time with Jack, Bobby and RJ on fiddles. These fiddles are again spotlighted on Redwing. Then there is Kokomo Arnold's Milk Cow Blues with the legendary Leon Rausch as guest vocalist. Also included are old favorites, Just Because and Corrine, Corrina with Bobby Flores on vocal and and again from Bob Wills, Roly Poly with Caroline Grace Wiseman doing the vocal. Also borrowed from Bob Wills is Texas Blues, Kristyn again on vocal on Miss Molly, Home in San Antone with Jake Hooker's vocal and My Window Faces the South with Wayne Glasson playing piano. The remaining item is Hank Singer's fiddle tune Flower of the Flock with again the fiddles of Jack and Bobby.
